Award Winning News and Upcoming Markets

We are fresh from a win at the Gosport Business Awards last night! Start up Business of the Year. We are chuffed and very proud of what we’ve achieved in such a short space of time. We have a great team and of course we wouldn’t be anything without our market traders, performers, local businesses who support us, the team at the council and of course visitors who attend our markets. There are so many elements involved in successful events! Not to mention the weather!

And of course we’re going straight into a market TOMORROW! It’s our Young People’s market in the high street (25th May) 10am-4pm. You can expect the normal monthly market you’re starting to get used... with a twist of youth! We’ve supported young entrepreneurs and youth-focussed businesses with free pitches. We’re offering a platform for fundraising opportunities, general awareness and valuable work experience. For example we have a couple of 17-year-olds with their new crepe business, a Girl Guide fundraising for a trip to Zanzibar, a martial arts school offering kids the chance to ‘have a go’, and lots more! Plus all our performers on the stage are under 25. Young energy is going to be fizzing in the high street! Just what we need for a summer’s day... As usual you can soak up the atmosphere, entertainment and a beer or two in our street food area. There’s usually a few people having a dance. Get involved!

After tomorrow I’ll be taking a short half term hike up Snowden and then it’ll be all systems go for the next market on 29th June. This will be a normal market... with an armed forces twist! It’s Armed Forces Day so it’s a no brainer, and of course Gosport is defined by its military heritage. This is a chance to recognise the armed forces community; service families, veterans and cadets. A celebration for those involved in defending our country.
